The paper has little in it that I do not already know. Frankly I'm a little surprised at how it described my involvement. But then I suppose that is a hold-over from my days in Kyoto, when all I ever heard about myself were bad things.

Hmph. I wonder how long this charitable view will last?

The murder of the prostitute I already knew about of course. I give it only a brief glance, then skip down to the page to the story about the priest in the East End. Strange case, that one. I've certainly never heard of rats behaving in such a manner.

But then I've never heard of dogs behaving as the one last night did. Not even a lion would have walked away so easily from a shot to the chest. If I actually shot the mutt, which I am fairly sure I did. I must have shot it. And I still don't know what to make of those disappearing tracks...

London is getting too weird. Perhaps it's time to go back to the country. Or Africa. Not that I would now. Not with Souji here in London.

Souji... I wonder how he fared with the children last night?
